Hullabaloo Family Focus is a new initiative designed to help us consult more with families who visit The Hullabaloo about the kind of shows they want to see, the kind of activities they’d like to do and how we can make them feel most welcome.
We are looking to recruit 3-5 families who are willing to attend events together and give us regular feedback about the things they liked and the things we need to do better. Ideally, we’d like families to commit to seeing and doing at The Hullabaloo over a 12-month period (starting July 2021) and to attending a minimum of 5 events over that time.
You don’t all need to come to everything if it’s not suitable for everyone, but a representative from your family should attend and then feedback to us via survey, tea and chat or email and let us know what you thought.
We know that there are a wide range of families who visit The Hullabaloo and we’re keen to hear lots of different perspectives, so our definition of a family that we’d like to consult with is simply a ‘group of two or more people where at least one person is under 12 years old and one person is over 18 years old’.
We would love to include young children or babies and their grown-ups as one of our family focus groups, so just because your child isn’t yet ready to write a blog doesn’t mean that we don’t want to hear about the fun you’ve had!

If you are willing and able to help us in our mission to make The Hullabaloo the best it can be then we will provide you with;-

- One place on a Play in a Day or similar workshop event at The Hullabaloo

- 1 x Hullabaloo Family Focus certificate
In return, we would be grateful if you would attend a Family Focus group over tea and cake once or twice for an hour over the 12 months and complete a short survey or answer a few questions about the experience you had when you came to The Hullabaloo. If you or your child is a keen blogger or reviewer and wants to do more, that would be brilliant, but we just want to hear your ideas in whatever way suits you best.
And as an extra special treat this year, we have a Hullabaloo in the Park in Darlington’s South Park from 12 – 25 July so we’re keen to kickstart our Hullabaloo Family Focus with some trips to some of the shows and events that are part of the festival.

If you would prefer to send us a short video or tell us about your family in a different way, that’s great too. Deadline is Monday 14th June.
