We are looking for one North East based artist to bring five winning Easter Egg designs to life to be displayed in the window of The Hullabaloo as part of our Easter activity
This year the activity will consist of five eggs hidden in the window of The Hullabaloo in Darlington alongside our new Spring window installation running from the end of March. The egg activity will be accompanied by a downloadable activity sheet so families can let us know where the eggs are located in the window.
Through this project we are looking for opportunities to employ and engage with local artists, as well as reminding the audience that there is still magic to be found at The Hullabaloo and it won’t be long before we’re able to re-open our doors.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for one North East based artist to bring five winning Easter Egg designs to life to be displayed in shop windows in Darlington as part of our Easter trail.
We are encouraging children and families to submit their own egg designs to us by mid-February (based on a standard egg-shaped template to fill in) and the chosen artist will choose their favourite five designs to incorporate into the production of five eggs.
The eggs must:
- Be able to be seen clearly from the window but be no bigger than 50cm tall
- Be recognisable as a “set”
- Include recognisable winning designs in the final objects
- Be presented in a playful and creative way – they could be hung, incorporate a stand, tell a story or be able to stand up on their own, they could all be different sizes and materials … the presentation is open to artistic interpretation.
The eggs will remain with Theatre Hullabaloo after this project, but the artist will be credited on our website with a photo and short biography.
We will be selecting artists based on the most creative interpretation of this brief and within the limited allotted budget.
If you have any access requirements or need additional support, please let us know.
You must be based in the North East of England to apply.
Theatre Hullabaloo are committed to ensuring that our work and the artists we work with represent the communities we serve.
